So there has been a lot of change in the last couple of years: the passing of a couple of good friends and family, one hell of a work project and more recently redundancy. I finish my current job in a few weeks time and I'm moving to Swaziland later in the year. For those of you currently reaching for google maps, Swaziland is a small country bordering Mozambique and South Africa.
A question I have been asked quite a bit is "Why?", and while I won't bore you with the inner working of my brain, suffice to say it's time for a rest, a better pace of life and spending some quality time with wider family. I will miss some creature comforts we take for granted here like fast internet, amazon prime same day delivery and reliable electricity. I will also miss some great friends, family and relationships here as well.
What this does give me is a lot more time to bore you all with my incessant ramblings, and photos of sunshine. Depending on how long it takes me to get really bored, enough to get a proper job based on my years of experience, I plan on doing a lot of travelling and photography in various guises: just for the hell of it as well as some event photography work. I may get into some teaching stuff, or volunteering down at the SPCA.
Things I am really looking forward to:
- Sunshine (not the heat though) more than it rains;
- Developing some projects I have put off for ages;
- Sundowners, braais and fire pit evenings watching the sun set behind the mountains;
- Proper red meat;
- Green cream soda floats.
